Excited you’ve decided to join me on this journey, my name is Staci Tave. I’ve been guided by others including family, friends, and co-workers to write a paper. Giving my thoughts, my understandings, etc. to others. I was finally pushed, or maybe encouraged, when I met someone for the first time for coffee and they said the same thing to me. OK universe I hear you.
My story….
I started journaling in 2018 after I meditated every Saturday and Sunday morning. Yes, there were days where I didn’t journal as I wasn’t able to, but then there were also days I would wake up at 3:00 am and journaled. There were even days when I found myself writing twice a day. Needless to say, I have a lot of journals.
Back story….I’m a commercial Interior Designer, so you may already know if you are in this industry or know someone that is. I was a very stressed and high anxiety person that worked what felt like thousands of hours in one week. I loved what I did though, seeing people excited about their space either in the concept stages or when they were walking into their new space. One of my favorite parts of the process is collaborating with people and pushing the team to think in new ways. Then if you get me in front of others that like to talk about the future and possibilities…..Wow my whole being gets excited! So, you may wonder what happened that changed everything for me. Well, it was a dominion effect. It started in the middle of 2018 when my step-dad passed away at a young age. He was denied healthcare insurance from missing $.50 from his payment, and with his health issues nobody would pick him up. Then at the end of 2018 to beginning of 2019 I had pancreatitis; I have lived with stomach pain almost every day since high school. At that point I understood that I was holding a lot of things in, plus obviously not taking care of my body with all the stress, etc. that was happening in my work life. I knew I needed to change some things, so I started to go within and work on myself. That’s where the meditation and journaling came in.
These journals consist of teachings, knowing’s, and questions I’ve had over the years. Some writings are very short, and others are 5-6 pages long. These writings touch on many things including our built environment. I know those who read these blogs will get something out of it, either small or large, it doesn’t matter. You will take what you need at that time for your own journey and may add to your own thoughts. My hope that these writings uplift you but also make you think of other possibilities.
I’m not sure how often I’ll blog as I’ve learned it’s best to go with the flow, but what I do know is I’m excited to take this step with all that read. Oh and a disclaimer…..these writings are my authentic self, so you may see grammar issues. LOL!
I can’t wait to see how this journey is written.
